World Series 2013 Prediction – Watch Those Angels
It may be a little early in the new season to begin thinking about the World Series, but many have already pegged the Angels to win it. What does Los Angeles have that no one else has? One thing is their spirit. After a relatively bad ending season in 2012, the Angels are geared up for bigger and better things. They have Josh Hamilton and this is one reason that many are already considering them the winners of the Series this year.
Hamilton was coveted by more than one team and the Angels locked him in with a contract that rivals some of the highest paid players in the league. With his 43 homeruns in 2012 and another 128 drive in runs, he is certainly someone that every team would like to have on their rosters. Hamilton is a player among players and not only can he hit, he can catch which after all is what it takes to be a great player.
Since Mike Trout missed a lot of the 2012 season, his reentry into the game is another plus for the Angels. So do these two players alone make the Angels a shoe-in for the Series? Not really, but they certainly are not hurting their status any. The Angels do have other things going for them. They have Wilson back up and running so for a pitcher they are certainly not lacking. Wilson had bone spurs removed from his elbows over the off-season – he actually pitched with the spurs in place during the latter half of the 2012 season. Now that those spurs are gone we can expect a few strike outs and some overall great pitching.
So to sum up why the Angels are becoming the number one pick for the 2013 Series –
Hitters – Good
Pitcher – Good
Infield – Good
...And...
Spirit – Great. The Angels are ready for a win. They did have a few good games last season but nothing that was going to get them where they really wanted to be. This season however, spirits are already up and not only do fans look for them to take home the Series win, the Angels themselves are getting a bit optimistic.
