About
I’ve been a fan of the game of baseball for as long as I can remember. It all started when I was young and playing Little League. It continued into my adolescence, even when my family was living overseas and my ability to follow the ongoings of the game was limited to what information I could find on the Internet (which was much less than what is available now). Now, as the responsibilities of life continue to become more substantial, my interest in the game is just as strong.
I watch as many games as I can, often regardless of the teams playing. I’ll follow box scores throughout my day. I collect autographs and memorabilia. I still have all of the baseball cards I have collected since I was a kid. All 25,000+ of them.
The game has been an irreplaceable part of my life for years. In fact, most of my friends and family would call it more of an obsession. I prefer to think of it as my passion.
This blog is my place to share my thoughts, opinions, insight, and ideas on the game in general. I won’t limit myself to just one team or just one type of post.
Like most bloggers, I have my everyday life. My fiancé and I are planning to get married in April 2012. I work a full-time job with an inconsistent schedule. Just like most of you readers. Writing is an outlet to relieve stress and an outlet to venture into the type of career I’ve always wanted. Breaking into the journalism field in any capacity, especially nowadays, is no easy task. And for an aspiring writer, building a base of experience – a portfolio – is an essential place to start. However, most importantly, I write because I enjoy it.
I write as often as my time permits. And I’m open to feedback. Any and all comments, suggestions, or criticism is welcomed. Leave a comment on a post. Or, if so inclined, send me an email. Contact can also be made through Twitter or Facebook.
For those curious, I’ve also contributed to a variety of other sites including the following roles:
Contributing Writer, May 2010 – June 2011, Seamheads.com
Assistant Editor, May 2011 – December 2011, BaseballReflections.com
Editor & Lead Writer, October 2011 – Present, DistrictonDeck.com
